SEA FEST HIGHLIGHTS:
The Chowder Cook-off Competition is well known throughout San Clemente. Anyone can participate. Taste test chowders created by businesses, restaurants and citizens or enter your own. Visitors come from near and far to taste the various creations so be sure you check it out. The winner is declared to have the best chowder west of New England.
Businesses use the chowder cook-off as an opportunity to market their company to over 5,000 potential customers in a short period of time. Your business can do the same. Highlight products and services you offer, decorate your booth to reflect your company and display marketing and promotional materials. Participation in the cook-off means your company name is displayed in various advertisements promoting the event. If you win, your business will make the local papers. What better way to get your name out?
Many clubs, organizations and other individual teams wait all year for the annual San Clemente Sea Fest. Favorite recipes are pulled out, some from generations past. Friends and family come to cheer participants on and the competition feels more like a celebration. Booths are decorated and everyone enjoys the entire event. A minimum of twenty five gallons is required to compete.
Every restaurant owner wants to have their chowder declared the best. If you own a restaurant in the San Clemente area, be sure to bring your special blend and compete against others to be the top in the town. No only will you get free marketing, you will also get new customers. These customers will fall in love with your chowder and visit to check out the other delicious foods you have to offer. Restaurants who choose to participate will need to bring a minimum of forty gallons of their chowder.
If you wish to taste the various chowders before and during the event, purchase a ticket. Choose which chowders you wish to taste test and enjoy.
Points are awarded to the best chowders. A judging cup is given to each team before the judging period for this purpose. The winner will be declared to be the Best Tasting Chowder. Other prizes will also be awarded. One is for the Best Decorated Booth which is based on originality of the booth decorations and costume. Individual taster's ballots are also provided and one entry will receive the People's Choice award.
Sea Fest Surf Contest
Do you love to surf? You can participate in this event even if you can't cook. Join the surf contest which is now bigger and better than ever. Local amateur surfers compete in this event and have the opportunity to win trophies and prizes.
Over 3,000 people are expected to attend this celebration. Businesses have the opportunity to market their goods and services to everyone who attends. This is a Chamber event therefore only members can participate.
Thousands attend this event. This may be due in large part to the gorgeous San Clemente Beach. Take advantage of this to promote your offerings.
Entertainment is provided courtesy of the Gemtones. This local trio will have you up and moving thanks to their huge array of 70's tunes. They also perform blues, classic rock and surf covers and mix it up with some original songs also.
